
Jammu, March 26 The Northern Command investiture ceremony 2026 will be held on March 28 in Udhampur, where soldiers and units of the Indian Army will be honored for exceptional courage, distinguished service, and unwavering commitment to duty.
A total of 92 awards will be conferred during the ceremony, including 51 individual honors and 41 unit citations, recognizing exemplary performance across multiple domains, including Operation Sindoor, a defense spokesman said.
The awards will be presented by Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command.
The ceremony aims to acknowledge both individual and collective achievements of Army personnel while reinforcing the core values of loyalty, selflessness, and patriotism that define the force’s mission, the spokesman said.
He said that the investiture also aims to inspire future generations by recognizing acts of bravery and excellence in service under challenging and demanding conditions.
A large number of serving military personnel, award recipients, and their family members are expected to attend the ceremony.
The event reflects the Indian Army’s ethos of valor, professionalism, dedication, and selfless service to the nation, particularly among troops deployed under Northern Command.
