
Mendhar/Jammu, March 16 An Army soldier died from what is suspected to be a cardiac arrest while on duty along the Line of Control in Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Monday.
Naik Tilak Singh was stationed in the forward Nangi Takri area of the Krishna Ghati sector, the officials said.
The Army's White Knight Corps paid tribute to the soldier for his courage and dedication to duty, saying in a post on X: "In solemn remembrance, the White Knight Corps pays tribute to Naik Tilak Singh, who was found unconscious while performing duty on the LoC in the Krishna Ghati sector on March 15. Despite immediate medical assistance, the brave soldier could not be revived and made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
"His unwavering courage and dedication to duty exemplify the finest traditions of the Indian Army. His ultimate sacrifice will continue to inspire generations."
