March 13, New Delhi – The Indian men's pair of Satwik Sairaj Ranki Reddy and Chirag Shetty withdrew from the Swiss Open ahead of their quarter-final match due to Ranki-Reddy's shoulder problem.

Ranki Reddy and Shetty were scheduled to face Denmark's Christian Faust Kjaer and Rasmus Kjaer in the last-eight stage of the tournament in Basel.

25-year-old Ranki Reddy, known for one of the fastest smashes in world badminton, has often struggled with his right shoulder.

In 2023, Ranki Reddy set a Guinness World Record for the fastest smash in badminton, achieving a speed of 565 kilometers per hour.

The Indian pair will next compete at the Badminton Asia Championships, scheduled from April 7th to 12th.
