Las Vegas, April 3 Aditi Ashok was the top-placed Indian, finishing tied for 58th after the first round of the Aramco Championship golf tournament here.

She had a score of 72, two over par.

Among other Indian golfers, Avani Prashanth, Diksha Dagar, and Pranavi Urs were significantly behind.

Avani and Diksha carded rounds of 75, three over par, placing them in 71st position, while Pranavi carded 76, four over par, placing her in 90th position.

The projected cut is set at two over par, putting Aditi in a precarious position, while the others are at risk of an early end to their week.

The leaders after the first round were Miyu Yamashita and Nasa Hataoka of Japan, along with American Lauren Coughlin.

All three carded 67, five under par. Hyo Joo Kim of South Korea, along with American Nelly Korda and Jing Yan, are one stroke behind the leaders in 4th position.

Kim entered this week having won her last two events and will be looking to capitalize on another strong start.

Nelly Korda, who lost to Kim by two strokes last week, is also in contention.
