February 23, New Delhi – India has asked all its citizens currently in Iran to leave the country using any available means of transport, in a new advisory issued today.
The advisory comes amid growing fears of conflict in the Middle East and increasing tensions between Tehran and Washington.
According to the Indian Embassy in Tehran, the new advisory was issued "in light of the evolving situation in Iran" and is a continuation of a similar advisory issued earlier this year on January 5.
The Indian Embassy in Tehran has requested all Indian nationals in Iran to keep their immigration and travel documents readily available.
It has also issued an emergency helpline number for those who might need it: +989128109115.
