March 08, New Delhi - The Indian men's team secured their first-ever bronze medal by defeating Chinese Taipei 3-0 at the 2026 Colombo Asia Qualification Event for the Wheelchair World Team Cup.
The tournament serves as the Asian qualifying pathway to the prestigious World Team Cup and is widely considered the "Davis Cup of wheelchair tennis." The men's team consisted of India's No. 1, Shekar Veeraswamy, Basavaraj Kundargi from Karnataka, and Karthik Karunakaran from Tamil Nadu.
