February 18, New Delhi – Indian filmmaker Shekhar Kapur praised the enthusiasm of young participants at the India AI Impact Summit, noting that the auditorium was filled with eager learners.
He added that India's growth in AI will come from its own perspective and grassroots needs, making the country a future AI superpower.
In a social media post on X, Shekhar Kapur wrote:
"The auditorium was overflowing with young people eager to listen and learn about AI at the India AI Impact Summit.
Their enthusiasm and eagerness convince me that India is soon going to be a superpower in AI.
However, we need to look at AI from an Indian perspective, just as we looked at the rise of the digital world from an Indian perspective. Western models won't work. In India, the growth of AI will come from the bottom of the pyramid – from where it is most needed and where true need-based intuition exists."
