New Delhi, March 31 Senior bureaucrat Vir Vikram Yadav has been appointed as the head of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) as part of a senior-level bureaucratic reshuffle effected by the Centre on Tuesday.
Yadav, an officer of the 1996 batch of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) cadre from Odisha, succeeds incumbent Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, who has now been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
Yadav is currently an Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
Kidwai, an officer of the 1996 batch of the IAS cadre from Madhya Pradesh, was appointed as the head of the DGCA in January last year.
Twenty-five civil servants have been appointed in various central government departments at the level of Additional Secretary in Tuesday's reshuffle.
