
NEW DELHI, MARCH 27: Union Minister Jitendra Singh stated that India's transition to clean energy is part of a broader national and geopolitical strategy aimed at reducing import dependence, boosting domestic capacity, and leading global sustainability efforts.
Speaking at the Planet C3 Summit, he highlighted the need to secure critical resources like lithium and rare earth magnets, while expanding domestic manufacturing and innovation.
He noted rising demand in sectors such as electric mobility, renewable energy, and AI, stressing the importance of scaling indigenous production, including permanent magnet manufacturing and nuclear energy under the Nuclear Energy Mission.
The Minister said initiatives like the National Green Hydrogen Mission, AI, and quantum missions reflect a coordinated, mission-mode approach, supported by increased research investment and startup growth.
He emphasized that India's strategy combines self-reliance with global collaboration to meet future energy needs and sustainability goals.
