
Today, the government stated that sufficient coal reserves are available at mines and power plants across the country in the context of the West Asia conflict. Speaking at an inter-ministerial briefing on recent developments in West Asia in New Delhi, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Coal, Sanjeev Kumar Kassi, said that the price of coal has not increased. He added that due to the proactive approach and timely actions of the coal sector, adequate coal reserves have been established even before the signs of the evolving West Asia conflict became apparent. Mr. Kassi noted that the Ministry has guided coal companies to ensure sufficient coal supply.
Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Sujata Sharma, stated that LPG, petrol, and diesel are available in sufficient quantities across the country and normal supply is continuing. She added that domestic consumers were prioritized to ensure 100% supply to households, and the supply of commercial LPG was regulated. She said that the government expanded PNG connections and also increased the supply of commercial LPG in a calibrated manner.
