
February 27, New Delhi – India achieved its highest total in T20 World Cup history during their match against Zimbabwe at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Thursday.
Abhishek Sharma and Hardik Pandya both scored impressive fifties, helping India post a massive total of 256 for 4 against Zimbabwe in their crucial match.
India's decision to open with Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson proved successful, as the pair scored 48 runs off 22 balls.
While Samson failed to perform significantly, Abhishek achieved his first fifty of the tournament, scoring 55 off 30 balls. Ishan Kishan also contributed with 38 runs, while Suryakumar Yadav scored 33 off 13 balls.
Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya's late innings provided a strong finish for India. Chasing a challenging target of 257, Zimbabwe are currently batting on 94 for the loss of 2 wickets.
