New Delhi, April 3 India's exports have maintained a strong pace despite global challenges, and are expected to show positive growth in 2025-26, a senior official from the Ministry of Commerce said on Friday.
Data on exports and imports for the month of March and the full 2025-26 fiscal year will be released by the Ministry of Commerce on April 15.
"Even at the end of March 31, despite the ongoing war, we will be concluding the year with positive growth. Despite US tariffs, numerous disruptions throughout the year, the ongoing war in Ukraine, and the start of the war in Iran, merchandise exports have maintained their momentum," the official said.
The country's merchandise exports declined marginally by 0.81 per cent year-on-year to USD 36.61 billion in February, and the trade deficit narrowed to USD 27.1 billion compared to the previous month.
Cumulatively, exports during April-February 2025-26 rose by 1.84 per cent to USD 402.93 billion. Imports grew by 8.53 per cent to USD 713.53 billion during the period, resulting in a trade deficit of USD 310.60 billion compared to USD 261.80 billion in the same month last year.
Goods and services exports during 2024-25 was USD 825 billion (goods USD 437 billion and services USD 388 billion).
