
February 18, New Delhi – Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to visit India at a mutually convenient time.
The invitation was conveyed in a letter which was handed over by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla when he met Tarique Rahman following the swearing-in ceremony at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in Dhaka on Tuesday.
In the letter, PM Modi described the victory as a testament to the trust and confidence placed in Tarique Rahman's leadership by the people of Bangladesh, as well as their mandate for his vision to guide the country towards peace, stability, and prosperity.
PM Modi said he looked forward to working closely with Bangladesh's new prime minister to strengthen multifaceted bilateral relations, enhance regional cooperation, and advance shared goals.
