
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has achieved significant growth in National Highway development during the 2025-26 financial year. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways reported that NHAI constructed over 5,300 kilometers of National Highways, which is approximately 15% higher than the target of 4,640 kilometers for the year. The Ministry also stated that NHAI's capital expenditure for the development of National Highway infrastructure in the 2025-26 financial year was over 2.44 lakh crore rupees, which is 2.5% higher than the Government's budgetary support for the year.
