
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be undertaking a two-day state visit to Israel, starting tomorrow. The Prime Minister is scheduled to hold extensive talks with his Israeli counterpart, Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu, in Tel Aviv. Subsequently, a series of events will be held in Jerusalem. Indian Ambassador to Israel, J. P. Singh, has described Prime Minister Modi's visit to Israel as historic. Speaking to Akashvani News in Jerusalem, Mr. Singh said, "India and Israel are aligned on the issue of terrorism." He added that whenever there has been a crisis, the two countries have stood by each other.
Mr. Singh stated that when Prime Minister Modi visited Israel in 2017, both leaders laid the foundation for strengthening bilateral ties. He further added that the time has come to build upon this strategic partnership and take it to a new phase. Providing information about Prime Minister Modi's visit, he said that several agreements will be signed after the talks between the two Prime Ministers. The Indian Envoy said that the talks will focus on innovation, Science and Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Quantum, and other areas.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Tel Aviv, the capital of Israel, on a two-day state visit, commencing on February 25, 2026. Immediately after landing in Tel Aviv, the Prime Minister will hold a private meeting with his Israeli counterpart, Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu. The rest of the Prime Minister's programme will be held in Jerusalem.
On the first day, the main event will be addressing the Israeli Parliament, the Knesset. Narendra Modi will be the first Indian leader to address the Israeli Parliament. He will also participate in a community event, where he is likely to interact with the Indian-origin community settled in Israel. The Prime Minister is scheduled to attend a technology exhibition. The second day will begin with the Prime Minister's visit to Yad Vashem, a Holocaust memorial where over six million Jews were killed during the Holocaust. A list of more than five million Jews who were killed, including 1.5 million children, is also maintained there.
The Prime Minister will view this list. Thereafter, he will depart for a meeting with the President of Israel, Mr. Isaac Herzog. After bilateral talks with the President, the Prime Minister will have an extended meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Both leaders will finalize the documents of agreement and exchange them in the presence of both leaders. Finally, the Prime Minister is scheduled to depart for Tel Aviv and then return to India.
