Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat stated today that tourism is a celebration of culture and a shared human aspiration. He made these remarks while addressing the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) Tourism Leadership Summit in New Delhi. The Minister said that as India progresses towards becoming a leading global economy, tourism remains central to its developmental vision.

Mr. Shekhawat stated that India's tourism ecosystem generates livelihoods across both urban and rural landscapes. Highlighting the strong interest of many tourists in India, the Minister noted that approximately 1.8 million visitors from the United States visited India in the last year.
