India's Youth and Innovation: Driving Economic Growth.webp

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, stated that India's youth and innovation ecosystem are driving the country's growth story. He made this statement while delivering the keynote address at the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in Mumbai yesterday. The minister emphasized that passion, innovation, and skilled manpower are India's greatest competitive advantages. He noted that the recent AI Summit held in New Delhi reflected the depth and maturity of India's technology ecosystem. The Commerce Minister asserted that AI will transform employment rather than eliminate it. He also pointed out that India produces approximately 2.3 million STEM graduates every year and has a vast pool of young, adaptable talent.

Referring to AI as the next major turning point after the Y2K era, he said it will create higher-value jobs, boost exports, and increase demand for skills in cybersecurity, data protection, and system governance. Mr. Goyal also highlighted that India has signed nine Free Trade Agreements covering 38 countries, providing wider market access for Indian goods and services.

Congratulating the award winners, he said that India's growth journey will continue relentlessly, powered by its entrepreneurs and youth, and urged all stakeholders to work collectively to realize the vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
