April 5, New Delhi: Indonesia paid tribute to three of its peacekeepers who were killed in southern Lebanon during the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The bodies of the personnel were returned home and honored with a state ceremony attended by President Prabowo Subianto, senior military officials, and the families of the deceased.

The peacekeepers were part of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). They lost their lives in two separate incidents as violence continued to escalate in the region.

Following the deaths, Indonesia has called on the United Nations to conduct a thorough investigation into the incidents.
