Kolkata, April 2 Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday alleged that infiltration has reached such an extent that the very existence of West Bengal is at stake.
Addressing an election rally here, he also accused the Mamata Banerjee regime of reducing West Bengal to a state of lawlessness due to the frequent incidents of firing and bombing.
"There is chaos and unrest everywhere in West Bengal; a time for change and to say goodbye to Mamata Banerjee," Shah said.
"There is corruption everywhere. There is a syndicate raj everywhere. It is time to usher in the 'Sonar Bangla' (Golden Bengal) as envisioned by Rabindranath Tagore and Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay," he said, urging the people to vote for the BJP candidates.
Shah addressed the rally before participating in the filing of nomination papers for the party's Bhabanipur candidate, Suvendu Adhikari.
