Lucknow, April 2 Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met Singapore High Commissioner to India Simon Wong on Thursday during a courtesy call here, with both sides agreeing to enhance cooperation in investment, skill development, infrastructure, and cultural sectors.

According to a press statement, during the meeting, Wong described the chief minister's February visit to Singapore as highly successful, saying it boosted global investors' confidence in Uttar Pradesh and projected the state as a hub of new opportunities.

The high commissioner noted that Singaporean companies operating in the state have found the investment climate favourable and are planning to scale up their presence.

He also said a major industrial delegation from Singapore will soon visit Uttar Pradesh to explore business opportunities and convert proposals into investments.

Both sides discussed cooperation in skill development to generate employment for the youth, and explored partnerships in promoting Buddhist tourism at key sites such as Kushinagar and Sarnath to attract international visitors.

Officials highlighted that an investment roadmap is being prepared for regions, including Noida, Greater Noida, Jhansi, and Varanasi, to ensure balanced development across the state.

Adityanath said Uttar Pradesh has emerged as one of the fastest-growing economies in the country under the mantra of "reform, perform, transform," and reiterated the government's commitment to providing a secure, transparent and industry-friendly environment.

He also emphasised the role of industrial corridors, the defence industrial corridor, expressway network and logistics hubs in attracting investments.

Describing Singapore as a key economic and technological partner, the chief minister expressed confidence that the upcoming delegation visit would open new avenues of collaboration and contribute to sustainable development, innovation and job creation in the state.
