February 18, New Delhi – From distant shores to India’s eastern coast, naval forces from around the world converged in Visakhapatnam today for Maritime Convergence 2026.

President Droupadi Murmu participated in the International Fleet Review 2026. As the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, the President reviewed the ceremonial fleet and witnessed a spectacular display of India’s naval strength and maritime capabilities at the INS Dega Naval Air Station.

Over 70 warships and 50 aircraft from the US, Russia, Japan, Australia, Iran, Bangladesh, and others participated in the event.

Aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, along with three submarines—INS Shankul, INS Sindhukirti, and INS Sindhukesari—also took part in the event.

Maritime Convergence 2026 is a historic assembly taking place from February 15–25, 2026, in Visakhapatnam. For the first time, India is hosting three major international maritime engagements simultaneously: the International Fleet Review, the 13th edition of Exercise MILAN, and the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium Conclave of Chiefs.
