Inspiring Farmers: A Veteran's Transition.webp

After 31 years of service in the Indian Army, retired officer Sushil Sharma has embraced modern agriculture, transforming his post-retirement life into a successful farming venture.

Following his retirement from the position of Director of Military Farms under the Northern Command, he established a modern farm on his land in Kawa Village, in the Udhampur District. With support from the Department of Agriculture and Floriculture, he is cultivating rare flower varieties, high-quality vegetable seedlings, and fresh produce for the market.

In addition to managing his farm, Colonel Sharma is also inspiring unemployed youth by demonstrating how modern farming can be a profitable and sustainable livelihood. His journey from military service to agriculture is inspiring many in the region to consider farming as a viable career option.
