Institute Faces CCPA Action Over Civil Services Promotion

Institute Faces CCPA Action Over Civil Services Promotion.webp

The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has imposed a penalty of 15 lakh rupees on Vajirao and Reddy Institute for publishing misleading advertisements related to the Civil Services Examination (CSE), 2023. The Authority found that the Institute deliberately concealed important information in its advertisements, specifically the courses chosen by successful candidates. The Institute also published photographs of successful candidates from the UPSC CSE 2023 on its official website shortly after the results were announced. The CCPA stated that these representations created a misleading impression among consumers, leading them to believe that all successful candidates had enrolled in the regular courses advertised by the Institute.
