Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan today emphasized the need for the country's armed forces to evolve into an integrated, agile, and technologically driven war-fighting instrument. Speaking at the closing address of the Ran Samvad seminar in Bengaluru, he highlighted that Multi-Domain Operations are no longer just a theoretical concept but an emerging operational reality.
General Chauhan stated that modern warfare is rapidly transcending traditional boundaries and timelines. He noted that the doctrine on Multi-domain operations is evolving and has been incorporated into the training syllabus, database, and integrated with the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance module. He also praised the "Make in India" initiative in the defence sector and emphasized the importance of indigenous weapon development. Announcing the next edition of the seminar, General Chauhan said that the 2027 Ran Samvad will be hosted by the Indian Navy. It will focus on high-intensity operations in a transparent and expanded battle space, with greater participation expected from younger and mid-level officers.
