In Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has invited suggestions from the public for the establishment of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board’s (SMVDSB) first-of-its-kind International Goddess Museum in Katra. Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that the Goddess Museum is envisioned as a unique global spiritual landmark. Members of the public are encouraged to visit the official portal www.smvdsbimog.org to share their suggestions and thoughts. Designed as an immersive destination, the museum will feature state-of-the-art digital installations, interactive galleries, thematic exhibitions, and light and sound presentations. The LG said that the initiative is expected to boost religious tourism and contribute to local economic development in the region. Special emphasis will be placed on promoting traditional handicrafts, including sculpture-making and artistic replicas inspired by the Shrine and the broader Shakti tradition. Dedicated spaces will showcase artisans’ craftsmanship, facilitate live demonstrations, and promote indigenous art forms. The LG said that by integrating scholarly research with innovative storytelling, the museum will cater to both devotees and knowledge seekers. This reflects the Shrine Board’s commitment to preserving heritage and presenting India’s timeless traditions in a contemporary and globally relevant manner.
