International Travel Disrupted: Chennai Airport Issues Flight Cancellation Advisory.webp

Chennai, February 28 – As many as 12 flights belonging to several airlines destined for various international destinations have been cancelled following the conflict in the Middle East, airport authorities said on Saturday.

The Chennai Airport has issued an advisory instructing passengers travelling to overseas destinations, particularly via Middle Eastern countries, to check with their respective airlines regarding their travel plans.

"As many as 12 flights scheduled for operation later today and Sunday have been cancelled. Flights operated by Oman Air, Akasa Air, Air India Express, and IndiGo, as well as those operated by Gulf Air bound for various destinations, including Dubai, Bahrain, and Abu Dhabi, have been cancelled," airport authorities said on Saturday.

In an update, the Chennai Airport also stated that flights of Etihad and Emirates for Saturday (February 28) and Sunday (March 1) have also been cancelled.

"Due to airspace closures in parts of the Middle Eastern countries, some international services may experience delays or route adjustments. Passengers are advised to check with their airlines for the latest flight updates," the advisory from the Chennai Airport stated.

The United States and Israel launched a major attack on Iran on Saturday. Iran responded by targeting Israel with missiles and drones, as well as striking US military installations in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar.
