ASMITA League held in Goalpara to commemorate International Women's Day
In Assam, an ASMITA League sports event was organized at the Dudhnoi High School playground in the Goalpara district today to mark International Women's Day.
The event was organized under the initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to celebrate women's participation in sports. ASMITA League events were organized at nearly 250 locations across the country on this occasion.
In Goalpara, the event was organized with the support of the District Sports Office and Mera Yuva Bharat Kendra, Goalpara. The program focused on empowering women through sports and physical activities.
Competitions were held in three age categories – under 13 years, 13 to 18 years, and above 18 years. The events included running races as well as traditional fun games such as pot-breaking, musical chairs, and tug of war.
Participants from different parts of the district took part in the competitions.
