ASMITA League organized in Dibrugarh to commemorate International Women's Day
In Assam, a one-day ASMITA League sports event was organized in Dibrugarh today to mark International Women's Day. The event took place at the playground of Tingkhong Higher Secondary School.
The event was organized by Mera Yuva Bharat, Dibrugarh, under the ASMITA (Achieving Sports Milestones by Inspiring Women Through Action) initiative of the Government of India's Khelo India program. The event was conducted in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India, Tingkhong Sports Association, and Divya Samaj Nirman Society.
Women participants from various areas of the Dibrugarh district, including Naharkatia, Duliajan, Namrup, and Khowang, participated in the competitions.
Over one hundred participants from different parts of the district competed in various categories, including under-13 and above, and under-18 and above. The competitions included 100, 200, and 400-meter races, along with several recreational sports events.
