President Droupadi Murmu stated that when women are given opportunities and support, they can achieve excellence in every field.

Addressing a national-level celebration on the occasion of International Women's Day in New Delhi today, the President said that women have taken the lead in all spheres, whether it be entrepreneurship or the corporate world. She added that India is rapidly moving towards women-led development, and women's participation in the workforce has increased.

President Murmu highlighted that schemes such as Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, PM Mudra Yojana, and Mission Shakti have led to the empowerment of women.

The President stated that women's participation in education is increasing, and the country has achieved gender parity in school education. She also mentioned that the nation's daughters are performing exceptionally well in sports.

Speaking on the occasion, Women and Child Development Minister Annpurna Devi said that the Centre is working with a whole-of-government approach to empower the lives of women.

She noted that International Women's Day celebrates the determination, dedication, and achievements of women, which form the foundation of a developed India.

The Minister said that when a woman receives an opportunity, she reaches great heights and paves the way for progress across the entire society.

She added that the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme has changed the lives of women. She also said that it is a matter of pride that women are taking the lead in making the nation Viksit Bharat.
