
Special programme highlights women leadership in water management and public service as departments unite to promote water security and empowerment initiatives districtwide
March 8, Anantnag: On the occasion of International Women's Day, the Jal Shakti Department in collaboration with the Education Department Anantnag organised a special programme at Dak Bungalow Anantnag. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and highlighted the importance of women's role in public service and community development.
A large number of women employees from various government departments participated in the programme, making it a vibrant celebration of women's contribution to governance and society. The event served as a platform to acknowledge their dedication and commitment across different sectors.
Executive Engineer PHE Qazigund attended the function as the Chief Guest and highlighted the vital role women play in the management and conservation of water resources. He emphasized that women's involvement is essential for ensuring sustainable use of water and effective implementation of public welfare schemes.
Speaking on the occasion, officers stressed the importance of water security and the growing leadership role of women in achieving it. They stated that empowering women in water management strengthens community participation and brings the nation closer to sustainable development goals.
The speakers also highlighted the significant contribution of women in the successful implementation of the Har Ghar Jal mission, ensuring safe drinking water reaches every household. They noted that women are not only beneficiaries of water supply schemes but are also emerging as leaders, planners and custodians of safe drinking water in their communities.
The programme concluded with appreciation for the dedication and valuable contribution of women employees working across different sectors in the district.
