March 08, New Delhi – Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla inaugurated a rally of all-women bikers organized in Connaught Place, New Delhi, on the occasion of International Women's Day. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was also present at the event.
Addressing the gathering, Om Birla highlighted the role of women in nation-building. He stated that from the freedom movement to the creation of modern India, women have provided strong leadership in every field.
He said that today, Indian women are leading from local councils to Parliament and are becoming a strong foundation for the country's development. He added that Indian women are no less than anyone and are setting new records in every field.
