Investigation Commission Releases Report on Gen-Z Protests.webp

The Investigation Commission, tasked with investigating the incidents of September 8 and 9 during the Gen-Z protests, has submitted a comprehensive 1,000-page report to Prime Minister Sushila Karki. The commission, led by former Justice Gauri Bahadur Karki and including members such as former Nepal Police Additional Inspector General Bigyan Raj Sharma and legal expert Bishweshwar Prasad Bhandari, conducted interviews with approximately 200 individuals. The report's recommendations against those deemed guilty are based on consultations with experts.

Prime Minister Sushila Karki has affirmed that the report received from the September 8 and 9 Incidents Investigation Commission will be reviewed by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Council of Ministers and will be put into implementation. The report found that the tendency of power-sharing, even in constitutional appointments, among political parties had increased public anger. The report included suggestions to prevent such incidents from happening in the future. The report has not been made public. Commission members stated that the report is only for review. It was suggested that if the recommendations for good governance in the report are implemented, they would significantly change the situations in various nations.
