Gorakhpur (UP), March 19 The body of a naked man was found in a tin shed of a toilet here on Thursday morning, causing panic among locals, police said.

The body was found in the Rawatpar village under the Gagaha Police station area behind a shop owned by Rajendra Yadav, about 20 metres from the Gorakhpur–Varanasi highway, they said.

A packet of condoms was also found in the victim's hand, the police said.

The incident came to light when Rajendra went to use the toilet in the morning and noticed the body. He immediately informed his son, Rampratap Yadav, who called the police.

ASP (South) Dinesh Kumar Puri, Circle Officer Bansgaon Anuj Singh and SHO Anjul Chaturvedi reached the spot with police teams and launched an investigation.

A dog squad joined the search for evidence, leading to the discovery of a pair of jeans and a T-shirt hanging from a guava tree about 25 metres away, likely belonging to the victim.

Eventually, the police identified the deceased as 32-year-old Rishabh Yadav of the same village.

The body was sent for postmortem.
