Amritsar, March 30 The Amritsar Rural Police have launched an investigation into the loud explosion-like sound that some villagers in the Rajasansi area reported hearing on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.
Villagers near the Bhindi-Saidhan police station, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Amritsar Rural Police District in the Rajasansi area, claimed they heard a loud sound at night, causing panic in the surrounding areas.
The police have stated that there have been no reports of casualties or damage to property, and the matter is currently under investigation.
They have confirmed that there has been no damage to the police station building or its premises.
Various police teams, including forensic experts, are investigating the matter. They are also reviewing CCTV footage from the area, an official said.
It is worth noting that in the past, there have been grenade attacks targeting police stations in Punjab.
