
Jaipur, March 29 Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma launched a half-marathon here on Sunday and emphasized the importance of physical and mental well-being among youth for building a progressive society.
Addressing participants at the event organized at Mahindra World City on the Ajmer Road, Sharma urged young people to move in the right direction, achieve their goals, and contribute to the development of the country and the state.
He said a healthy body and mind are essential for a fulfilling life and for harnessing the potential of the country's youth.
India is a nation of young people, and their overall development is crucial for the advancement of society and the nation, he added.
Sharma said the state government has been working to secure the future of youth by providing increased opportunities in government and private jobs and promoting self-employment over the past two-and-a-half years.
He also called upon young people to take advantage of various welfare schemes and policies of the central and state governments and ensure that the benefits reach the last mile.
After launching the marathon, the chief minister also planted a sapling, giving a message of environmental conservation. A large number of people participated in the event with enthusiasm, officials said.
