March 26, New Delhi – Iran's men's soccer team trained in southern Turkey as they prepared for the 2026 Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup.
The team held a training session ahead of upcoming friendly matches, which were described as crucial to their preparations.
Iran's football federation is in discussions with the world governing body about moving their World Cup matches from the United States to Mexico due to concerns over player safety.
Iran will play two friendly matches this weekend, against Nigeria and Costa Rica, which team officials said were central to their final preparations.
The friendly tournament was originally scheduled to take place in Jordan, but was moved to Turkey following the outbreak of the Iran-Iraq war.
