Iran-Israel Conflict Escalates with Strikes and Intercepted Missiles.webp

March 09, New Delhi – On Monday, the Israeli military announced that it had launched a new wave of strikes targeting what it described as "regime infrastructure" in central Iran.

This marks the first such announcement since the Islamic Republic appointed Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei as the new Supreme Leader.

Israeli forces announced the beginning of the additional wave of strikes shortly after confirming attacks on the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah in Lebanon.

The developments come after Iran earlier launched its first missiles toward Israel following Mojtaba Khamenei’s appointment as Supreme Leader.

The missiles, bearing the slogan “At Your Command, Sayyid Mojtaba,” were fired toward Israel.

Multiple explosions were also heard in Doha as Gulf nations reported fresh attacks, with Iran continuing retaliatory strikes across the region.

Meanwhile, Kuwait's defence ministry said its air defences were engaged in intercepting a new missile and drone attack on Monday. This comes after seven missiles and five drones targeted Kuwait on Sunday.

The Health Ministry of Bahrain said an overnight Iranian drone attack wounded 32 civilians.

United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia also reported interceptions of missiles and drones.
