March 5, New Delhi: A ballistic missile launched from Iran and aimed at Turkey via Iraq and Syria was destroyed by NATO air defense systems.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Wednesday that Turkey is providing the necessary warnings to prevent a recurrence of the incident, hours after Ankara announced that the missile launched from Iran had been intercepted by NATO air defense systems.

The debris from the NATO air defense missile fell on Turkish soil, the ministry said earlier. Turkey summoned the Iranian ambassador to Ankara to its foreign ministry on Wednesday to convey its protest and concerns over the ballistic missile fired from Iran.
