New Delhi, March 3 India on Tuesday advised its nationals in Iran to exercise extreme caution and remain indoors as much as possible, given the deteriorating security situation in the Persian Gulf nation due to recent military strikes by the US and Israel.
"In light of the evolving situation, all Indian nationals in Iran are advised to exercise extreme caution, avoid unnecessary movements, and remain indoors as much as possible," the Indian embassy in Tehran said in a fresh advisory.
"Indians should also continue to monitor news, maintain situational awareness, and await further guidance from the Indian Embassy," it added.
It is estimated that around 9,000 Indians, including students, are currently stranded in Iran.
