Iran Threatens Retaliation Against Global Shipping.webp

Iran has warned that it would respond with far more devastating and widespread retaliation if its civilian targets are further attacked. Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader, has also warned that the resistance front could target the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, disrupting the flow of global energy and trade with a single signal. The Bab el-Mandeb Strait, which connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden, is a crucial chokepoint for shipping between the Atlantic, Indian Ocean, and Mediterranean.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump threatened to destroy Iran's civilian infrastructure if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed. Mr. Trump indicated that the US could launch large-scale strikes on Iranian infrastructure if Tehran does not comply with US demands. Trump warned that Iran could face widespread destruction of key assets, including power plants and bridges, if it fails to act within a specified timeframe.
