Iraq Security Concerns: India Urges Caution.webp

March 19, New Delhi – India issued a new advisory urging its citizens to exercise heightened vigilance and avoid non-essential travel. The Indian Embassy in Baghdad is closely monitoring the evolving security situation in Iraq, with particular attention to the safety and well-being of Indian nationals, including those currently stranded.

Citizens are advised to remain calm, refrain from acting on unverified information or rumors, and rely solely on official communications. Indian nationals holding long-term visas or resident status in Iraq are advised to remain in their current locations. Those on short-term visits who are stranded may consider returning to India via Saudi Arabia using land border routes.

All travelers are urged to carefully assess the prevailing security situation before commencing their journey and to take all necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
