Israel-Iran Conflict Escalates: Casualties Reported in Southern Israel.webp

March 22, New Delhi: Two missiles launched from Iran struck southern Israel on Saturday, injuring more than 100 people, including children, in the most destructive attack of the ongoing three-week conflict.

Rescue workers were active at the sites in the cities of Dimona and Arad. Dimona is home to a facility widely believed to be the Middle East's only nuclear arsenal, although Israel has never officially confirmed its possession of nuclear weapons.

Benjamin Netanyahu received updates on the situation and, in a written statement, vowed to continue striking Iran. He called it a "very difficult evening in the campaign for their future" and affirmed Israel's determination to target enemies on all fronts.

Itamar Ben-Gvir visited Arad, saying Israel "must continue to crush to achieve victory." Eyal Zamir warned that Iran had launched an intercontinental ballistic missile toward a U.S. target, with a range of 4,000 km, and noted that European capitals are within reach of Tehran's long-range weapons.

The Israel Defence Forces shared footage claiming an Iranian missile with a cluster warhead struck a kindergarten in Rishon Lezion.

Iran stated that the targeting of Dimona was retaliation for Israeli strikes on its Natanz nuclear facility.
