
JAMMU, FEBRUARY 24: Director of Panchayati Raj, Sham Lal, reviewed the progress of Panchayat Houses, Panchayat Learning Centres (PLCs), Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDPs), and the ‘Mera Gaon Meri Dharohar’ initiative across the Union Territory.
Against a target of 640 Panchayat Houses, land has been identified for 579, work has been allocated in 435 cases, and 204 have been completed so far. He directed the districts to complete all remaining buildings by March 31 and ensure they function as active hubs for Gram Sabha meetings and official workspaces for Panchayat staff.
He also called for the full operationalization of 32 PLCs, the timely uploading of GPDPs on the e-GramSwaraj portal, comprehensive documentation under ‘Mera Gaon Meri Dharohar,’ and the completion of registrations under the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana by March 15 in coordination with the Labour Department.
