Hubballi, February 28 Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was present at the KSCA Cricket Ground as Jammu and Kashmir edged closer to a historic maiden Ranji Trophy title in the final day of the summit clash against Karnataka here on Saturday.
Abdullah called it a defining moment for cricket in the Union Territory, saying he travelled to Hubballi to personally support the team as it neared a historic victory.
"I am in Hubballi to support the J&K cricket team as they secure a historic win. The team has dominated the opposition in every day of this five-day final," he said.
Abdullah was accompanied by his Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq, and the Administrator of the J&K Cricket Association.
With their overall lead crossing 600, J&K are poised to secure victory within hours, based on their first-innings advantage.
This will mark Jammu and Kashmir's maiden Ranji Trophy title, a landmark achievement in the region's cricketing history.
