HUBBALLI, FEBRUARY 28: Omar Abdullah is in Hubballi, Karnataka, to witness the final day of the Ranji Trophy final, as the Jammu & Kashmir cricket team is on the verge of creating history.

Describing it as a defining moment for cricket in the Union Territory, the Chief Minister said he travelled to Hubballi to personally support the team at this crucial stage. “I am in Hubballi to cheer the J&K cricket team as they look to secure a historic victory. There hasn't been a single day in this five-day final where the team hasn't dominated the opposition,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister arrived in Karnataka on Friday evening to boost the team's morale, which is being hailed as a landmark chapter in Jammu & Kashmir's sporting journey. In their maiden appearance in the final of the Ranji Trophy, the team is poised to win India's premier domestic cricket title.

He was accompanied by Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq, and the Administrator of the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association.

If victorious, it will mark Jammu & Kashmir's first-ever Ranji Trophy triumph – a monumental achievement reflecting the growing stature and resilience of cricketing talent from the region.
