J&K Cricket Team's Resurgence – A Story of Belief and Determination.webp

New Delhi, Feb 23 – After 67 years, Jammu & Kashmir are on the verge of winning the Ranji Trophy title as they face Karnataka in Hubbali on Tuesday. For decades, the J&K team was a footnote in Indian domestic cricket, appearing intermittently and occasionally surprising opponents.

Now, with the team set to play their first-ever Ranji Trophy final, everyone is rooting for them. Their journey to reach here has been challenging, including a loss to Mumbai in Srinagar, a home win against Rajasthan, a win against Delhi in Delhi, and a win against Hyderabad in Jammu.

The J&K team has developed a strong sense of self-belief. They are no longer intimidated by their opponents.

"The mood is very confident, and the boys are enjoying the moment," said bowling coach P. Krishnakumar. "They are not bothered by playing against big names. They say, 'We'll see them on the ground.'"

Krishnakumar also praised the contributions of the team's support staff, including former batter Mithun Manhas and Brigadier Anil Gupta.

Krishnakumar also highlighted the importance of simplicity in their coaching philosophy. He emphasized the need to understand the players' culture and temperament.

He also praised the work of the team's fielding coach, Dishant Yagnik, and head coach Ajay Sharma.

Krishnakumar also emphasized the importance of taking one match at a time.

The J&K team's resurgence has been built on togetherness, hard work, and a stubborn attitude. They are no longer hopeful outsiders – they firmly belong here amongst the heavyweights.
