Jammu and Kashmir dominated the Ranji Trophy final against the Karnataka cricket team on Day 2 with a strong batting performance, ending at a massive 527/6 after the match was called off early due to poor light.
Starting from their overnight score of 284/2, J&K faced early setbacks as centurion Shubham Pundir only added four runs before being dismissed by Vidyadhar Patil for 121. Abdul Samad also fell soon after, adding nine runs to his overnight 52 before Prasidh Krishna removed him for 61.
However, the middle order then stepped up. Wicketkeeper Kanhaiya Wadhawan and captain Paras Dogra put together a crucial 73-run partnership just as Karnataka seemed to be gaining momentum. Their steady half-centuries stabilized the innings and helped J&K reach 380/4 by lunch.
Sahil Lotra then produced a fluent unbeaten 57, while Abid Mushtaq remained not out on 20, safely navigating the shortened final session as fading light forced the umpires to call off the match.
With 527/6 on the board, Jammu and Kashmir maintain a strong lead and are well-positioned to dictate the terms in the final clash.
