J&K LG Manoj Sinha Reviews Security in Border Areas, Mourns Death of Senior Official in Pak Shelling

Srinagar, May 10 – Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday conducted a high-level review of the security situation in the border districts, which have witnessed intense cross-border shelling by Pakistani troops in recent days.

Taking to social media platform X, Sinha voiced deep concern over the prevailing tensions. “Reviewed security situation in the border districts. Anguished by loss of lives due to unprovoked shelling by Pakistan,” he stated.

The Lieutenant Governor also extended his condolences over the death of senior administrative officer Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) of Rajouri, who was killed in the shelling.

“We have lost brave citizens including our ADDC Rajouri, Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa in the line of duty. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families,” he added.

The ongoing escalation along the Line of Control has triggered widespread alarm, prompting emergency responses and heightened security measures in the affected districts. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely as civilian and official casualties mount due to unprovoked aggression.
