
Bhaderwah/Jammu, March 13 A Jammu and Kashmir Police head constable and his wife were killed, while their two children were injured after their vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a stream in the Doda district on Friday, officials said.
The accident occurred around 9 am when the four were travelling from Bhaderwah to Bani in their SUV.
Head Constable Zulfikar Ali, who was stationed with the District Special Branch (DSB) in Bhaderwah, and his wife Rehana Begum died on the spot, officials said.
Their two children – Arshad Ahmed (20) and Kamran Ahmed (24) – sustained injuries in the incident, and they have been taken to the sub-district hospital in Bhaderwah, they said.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh condoled the loss of lives in the accident.
"Just spoke to the Doda DC, Krishan Lal, after learning about the tragic road accident near Basti village of Bhaderwah, in which unfortunately, a head constable of Jammu & Kashmir Police, Zulfikar Ali and his wife lost their lives," he said in a post on X.
Their two children, who were also travelling with them, were injured but are out of danger, he said, adding that all possible assistance is being provided.
