Srinagar, February 26 The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday seized a two-story residential house worth approximately Rs 44 lakh, allegedly acquired through illegal drug trade, in the Shopian district.

"The police have seized a residential house valued at Rs 44.50 lakh belonging to Abdul Rashid Koka, a resident of Melhura Zainapora in Shopian," a spokesman said.

The property was found to have been acquired using money obtained from the sale of illegal drugs and narcotics, he added, noting that the accused has previously been involved in multiple cases under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The seizure was carried out in the presence of a duly constituted police team, an executive magistrate, a lambardar, and a chowkidar, ensuring full compliance with all legal protocols, the spokesman said.
